Day 8: Magic Kingdom and Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party!

Our last day of fun! We started our day out by swimming in our awesome pool. I am sad that we didn't swim more, but we were just so busy everyday! There was a kids pool and the big pool. The big pool had two water slides that were so fun. The picture below is the kids pool.  The whole area looked so cool. They did a great job putting it together.

After swimming and getting all ready, CJ, Kelly and I headed over to Magic Kingdom for our last day. We ate lunch at the Tortuga Restaurant by Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Their burritos were really good and we got gelato for free! Everyone else met us after we ate. Disney World was decorated so cute for Halloween.  It makes it so fun to see all the things that they put together for the holidays. It has to be a ton of work to put up and take down all the decorations. I am glad that I don't have to do the work, I just get to enjoy it.

Below are pictures of the Swiss Family Robinson House. I have to say that I was very sad when Disneyland changed it to Tarzan. As I got thinking about it, I realized that anyone younger then me probably has no idea who that is. I was excited to see it at DW. I don't know why, it isn't anything exciting, but just another memory from when I was little I guess.

Pictures below are of a fun parade we watched

Jack Sparrow only comes out at the holidays. He was doing a show when we were walking by so we decided to stop and watch. I have to say that the guy who played Jack did an awesome job. He sounded just like Johnny Depp and was hilarious to watch.

My sweet nephew Emmett turned one today! What a lucky boy that he got to spend his first birthday at DW! We had dinner reservations at Crystal Palace. The characters were Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger. Emmett loved the characters, he really liked to grab their noses or ears.

The restaurant brought him Emmett a cupcake with a candle and he was dying to eat it. After we sang and Ashli blew out the candle, he thoroughly enjoyed it. He ate it all.

When we got to the park that day, we decided that we were going to get tickets for Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party. We were debating because you have to buy a whole other ticket to go or leave the park early because they close it down for everyone else for the party. It was expensive, but it was totally worth it. I think everyone needs to try it at least once. It ended up being CJ's favorite thing all week so I am very glad that we decided to go. We didn't know what to expect because we had never done it before. We knew there was trick or treating and a special Halloween parade where the Villians come out. We didn't pack costumes because we were unsure if we were going to do it so none of us were dressed up, but if we do it again we definitely will! There were so many awesome costumes that people were wearing.

We had to pick up our wristbands and our trick or treating bags so right at 7 we were able to start trick or treating. The bags they gave us were not large, but you could very easily dump your candy out and refill it! We could go back to any station as many times as we wanted. There was one station that gave you one fruit snack so we went through it multiple times, but the other stations just gave you handfuls of good candy! It wasn't the cheap stuff. We got a ton of candy and we missed half of the stations that were on the other side of the park! Some of the lines had quite a bit of people in them, but they moved so fast that you weren't there long at all.

You can't see the Mickey head on the lighted ball up above, but this light was at every candy station so you knew where to go and we had a map to help as well.

There were three stations that were dance parties throughout the park. There was a stage and a DJ who would show you some moves and then everybody would just dance! It was really fun and each dance station had different characters that would come out and dance with you.

They left a ton of the rides open during the Halloween Party and they had no lines because everyone was trick or treating! We were able to do a ton of rides which is why we didn't do as much trick or treating. When you were walking out from the ride there would be games that the kids could play and win something. It was so fun, the kids were having a blast. There were also quite a few characters that were out to take pictures and sign autographs all over the park. A lot of them were dressed up too. It was so cute!

They had a special firework show just for the party and they were awesome. They put lights on the castle so it looked really cool. At the end of the firework show they shot off fireworks all around the park so it looked just like daytime outside because there were so many going off at once. Definitely one of the best shows that Disney does.

After the fireworks we went and staked out our spot for the parade. I really wanted to have good seats because I have heard the parade is awesome. While we were waiting we decided to get a churro. We hadn't had one all week long so we had to get one since this was our last night! I think the churros are one of the main reasons you go to Disney! It was delicious!

We didn't have to wait long at all for the parade. When we bought our tickets, the lady who was helping us was so nice. She told us the perfect spot to go and get seats and they were awesome. I took a ton of pictures of the parade because a lot of characters that you don't usually see are in it. It starts with the headless horseman riding down the street, then you hear scary music and the fun begins!

These graveyard diggers were cool. They were carrying shovels and would dance and then drag the shovel on the street and do circles and sparks would fly all over. They were in perfect unison so it was really cool to watch.

The Villians were fun to watch. There was Cruella, Queen of Hearts, Jafar, Evil Queen from Snow White, Malificent, the bad guy from Hunchback, and the Big Bad Wolf.

After the parade we watched a Villian Show right in front of the castle. This is only done during the Halloween Party so we couldn't miss it! The same ones I listed up above were in the parade and so was Captain Hook. It starts out with the voodoo man from Princess and the Frog singing and dancing and then all the other villians come out and they sing and dance. It was about fifteen minutes long and it was fun to watch.

The picture above is what Main Street looks like during the party. I love how Disney goes all out for everything! It makes it so worth it to go and enjoy the holidays there. They even swap out the balloons for the party so that they are Halloween colors instead.  We had so much fun and would definitely do it again. The party was from seven to midnight which we thought was quite long, but really it wasn't long enough! Time went by so fast. We really stayed on one side of the park the whole night, we didn't have time to go to the other side.

Overall, our trip was a blast and I am so glad that we were able to share this with my family, especially my Mom and Dad. We were sad to leave, but very excited to go home and see our Little Jackson. Big thank you to Ashli who planned the whole thing and booked everything for us! And to Holly for watching Jackson for nine days! We love you guys!
