There is always one of these...

You remember that present you hide in a place you don't usually go, that you forget to put out on Christmas Eve? Well, it happened to us and this is only his second Christmas! This better not happen every year. I had put this in the garage up on a shelf so Jackson wouldn't see it and I totally forgot about it. I noticed it the day after Christmas, which is better then a couple months later! We debated whether or not to save it for his birthday, but thought we might as well give it to him now. So he got a Buzz bike as a belated Christmas present. I am hoping that he gets used to having to move his feet to make it move so that we can get him something bigger for Summer. We shall see!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

This year we were at CJ's Mom's house for Christmas Eve. We had a great turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, rolls and other yummy food. Connie had bought sticker sheets of the manger and it came with a stable to put them on. The kids put together their pictures after dinner. Jackson really liked it and put his stickers all over.

We hung out and just talked for a while and then decided to open presents. We started with the presents from Grandma Connie. Jackson got Mickey Mouse pajamas with a cape, a three foot Mickey puzzle and the firetruck Red from Cars. I got a necklace and money and CJ got candy and money.

The cousins draw names and this year Cooper had Jackson. He got plush Buzz and Woody dolls and a Little Einsteins movie. Below is Jackson opening his present and seeing Buzz and Woody. He was really excited. He was really into Cars and he still is, but now Buzz is really cool too. He always asks to watch Buzz.

Jackson was very excited to play with Red. It is a good thing I brought his other cars because he went looking for them in the diaper bag. He was so happy with his toys. I love that he gets so excited over little things. I sure wish that it would last forever!
Below is cute Cooper in his awesome Batman outfit.

The Cottrell's always have a birthday cake for Jesus. So after we opened presents, the kids were very excited to blow out the candles. So excited that we had to light them five times so each child could get a turn.

After cake and ice cream, we played and hung out for a little bit longer. Jackson was getting pretty tired and whiny so we decided to head home so he could get to bed.
When we got home, Jackson opened his new Buzz jammies to wear to bed. He was excited when he saw who was on them. CJ read The Christmas Train to Jackson before bed and Jackson loved looking at the train. Then we got his jammies on and he was very ready to go to sleep. He grabbed his Buzz and Woody dolls and headed off to his room. I love that he loves to go to bed, most of the time!

My cute Jackson in his new jammies and cute slippers!

Christmas Day!

Christmas morning was so fun with Jackson. He was watching t.v. while he drank his bottle and then CJ told him there were presents in the living room to open. He didn't care at all, it took a little coaxing to get him out there. We gave him his stalking to open. He got a flying Mater, a monkey toy, a Curious George movie, and M&M's. He was so happy with his flying Mater that he didn't want to open any of his presents. CJ got Jackson to help him open more of his presents. They were Thomas and Henry trains. After that he was really done. He just wanted to play with his new toys, so we let him. I didn't get any pictures of him opening presents because I was recording and CJ was helping him. Bummer! CJ opened Jackson's other presents which were new Cars jammies, and a magnet board that says I am a Child of God.

Jackson decided to go through my stocking to see what kinds of treats he could find.

Jackson was so happy playing. I loved watching him fly his Mater around the house.
My parents and sister Kelly came up for breakfast. We had sausage souffle. It was so good! They stayed and visited for a while and Jackson loved showing off his new toys. He was running all over the place and loved getting so much attention.

After my parents left, we all took much needed naps. It was so nice. After that, we went to Cory and July's to see what the kids got then headed back home so that Connie could come over for a little bit.  It was such a nice, relaxing and fun day!

Best Buddies and Lighting McQueen!

Jackson absolutely loves Cooper and Cayman! Whenever somebody knocks on the door, he runs to it saying "Pooper!" We are working on the 'c' sound. Cory and July went on a cruise a couple weeks ago and while they were gone, Jackson would look at their Christmas card on the fridge and say "Pooper" and run to the door. He would get very mad at me when I told him we couldn't see him because Cooper wasn't home. He loves playing at their house and when I say it is time to go he always says,"No!" over and over again.  We have used Cooper has a bribing tool many times. We tell Jackson he can't play with Cooper or go to his house until he does something. Works like a charm every time! I am so glad that he has cousins he loves so close. Family is the best!

My sister Holly bought these Lightning McQueen slippers for Jackson while CJ and I were at Disney World. He saw them at Walmart and loved them. My sister asked if he wanted to buy those and he nodded. She bought them for him and then tried putting them on his feet when they got home and he wanted nothing to do with them. So finally after three months, he loves them! He thinks they are great and loves wearing them all the time. I'm not sure what the change was. He was standing on the couch with his shoes and I told him he couldn't do that, but he could put on his slippers like Mom and Dad if he wanted too. I have said that multiple times before hoping he would wear them and it never worked.  Things happen definitely on the child's time and not the parents.

He looks so cute in them!!

Kangaroo Zoo and a Fort

CJ got home from work early one day and we were so tired of being cooped up in the house all week so we decided to go to Kangaroo Zoo. It would be Jackson's first time and we knew he would love it because he loves to jump and run around. We brought his best bud, Cooper along so he would have someone to play with. They had so much fun on everything. They ran all over the place. One of the entrances to a bounce toy was a tiger and Jackson was scared of it. He wasn't sure he wanted to go in until he saw Cooper run in, then he was okay. If he was ever afraid of something, as soon as Cooper did it then he was fine. It was fun watching them play. I had to help Jackson on the big slides. He couldn't climb up the little steps by himself. He never climbed on things before this, but now he can get on chairs and the couch. Before he just didn't care and now he thinks he is so big!

Jackson was playing with CJ and jumped on his head and CJ started getting up and he thought it was so funny.

On Saturday we built a fort in the family room. It is the first time we had built one and Jackson thought it was great. At first he would crawl in, but then he started running in. He would hit his head on the blanket and laugh so hard. He kept doing it until the whole thing fell apart.

I love watching him play and do new things!
