Before we left California, there were a few things we wanted to do. We've visited a lot of places and done a lot of things, but we hadn't been to the San Diego Zoo or a San Diego Padres Baseball game. Here is the recap of our trip.
Friday we left for Aunt Renee's house to spend the night. We had a fun evening of talking and we were even able to meet Brian (Jackie's cousin) who lives in Texas and works for the same company as us. I had heard a lot about him from family and work and it was fun to talk to him. We even saw Emily's new baby girl which was fun. So we saw most of the Hulse family. Thanks to Aunt Nay for letting us spend the night.
Saturday we went straight to the Zoo. It was a blast. I thought I would get bored after a little bit, but did not get bored at all. I was glad we made the trip. While we were at the Zoo, one of my really good friends from High School is living in San Diego while her husband goes to Law School and they were able to stop by the Zoo for a little bit and say hi. It was really fun to see Emmy and meet her husband and little boy. Fun to catch up on some of the old friends. We saw lots of animals and Jackie's favorite were the Panda's. We saw lots of fun monkeys, bears, and some really cool flowers and trees.
After the Zoo we checked into our hotel, swam and then rested. That night we went to a Padres game. It is the only stadium on the west coast that I hadn't been to, and it did not disappoint. It was an amazing stadium and I sure do enjoy baseball. Even though the game had no affect on the play-offs and both teams were in last place, it was still a lot of fun to watch and relax. After the game they had fireworks which were a lot of fun.
On Sunday we went to Balboa Park which is full of museums and gardens. We just walked around and enjoyed the scenery. We did stop in on the of the museums which was a railroad museum. It was huge and had tons of trains. Jackie's brother Scott will be jealous we were able to go there and he wasn't able to come with us. After that we headed home and to make Jackie's mom jealous we stopped at Las Golondrinas and had some amazing Mexican food.
It was fun to get in one last adventure. We sure will miss California.
