Fires

The fires going on down here have been crazy. It is really sad all the homes/businesses that have been destroyed already and everyone that has been evacuated. We are few hours away from the San Diego fires, but the fire in Malibu is like 30 miles south of us and there is a fire in Piru/Fillmore that is 20 miles east of us. The smoke is intense and there is ashes in the air and on top of that it has been really hot. Some of our co-workers didn't come to work today because they were waiting to be evacuated. It's really sad. Hopefully they are able to contain the fires soon.

This picture is from our apartment looking toward the ocean. Those aren't clouds but smoke from the fire. That is at about five o'clock this evening.

TRANSFORMERS

Any boy that grew up in the eighties loved the Transformers. I remember watching that show growing up and even one year had an Optimus Prime Birthday cake. I use to watch Transformers with this Kid named Spenny Morris and it just so happens we were mission companions and now work together. When we heard that Transformers was coming out in the theaters, we were so excited and were there for opening night. Jackie and I went and saw it in the movie theaters three times. It is also one of her all-time favorite movies!!!!! So I won a gift card to Amazon.com so I thought what better way to spend it than to buy Transformers, and even better it is already here even before it comes out in the stores. Needless to say I am really excited. AUTOBOTS ROLL OUT!!!!!!!!

Cirque Du Soleil

So on Friday night we went on a double date to Cirque Du Soleil. It was playing at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles. I didn't really know what to expect other than it would be a lot of acrobatic performances. We first got there and I was surprised that it was going to be outside in a big circus tent. Jackie and I had done some research before going and read about how Cirque Du Soleil started and the version we were going to was called Corteo. It was about a clown that was having a dream about his funeral and this funeral was taking place at a Carnival. So the whole story was very random. From scene to scene it was totally different things. It had a scene of bunch of performers jumping on beds, and a scene of three guys rolling around in hoops, and then it was a tight rope walker, and then next a hoop spinning lady, plus a golfing scene, followed by more acrobatics on trampolines and ropes. A "small person" attached to balloons that floated around the audience, and then all of a sudden it just ended after more acrobatics this time on bars. It was very interesting but also probably the weirdest show I have ever seen. Jackie thought it was really cool and we had a really good time. Spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and watching conference. It was nice to be able to watch conference from our apartment and Tyler's place this time. Jackie and I tried to make a movie this weekend on our computer and so we were looking at our wedding pictures. So I thought I would add this picture of us doing acrobatics at our wedding. This picture makes me laugh.

Girls Weekend!

Every year all the girls on my Dad's side get together for a weekend in Tuacahn. We see a play, shop, eat lots of food, talk and just hang out. It is so much fun. I look forward to it every year, there is about 20-25 of us that go. This year we went and saw Cinderella. It was so cute. It was so much fun to see everyone. I don't get to see anyone that often since I live so far away. I drove to Vegas Thursday night and then drove with Jodi and Auntie Norma Jean Friday morning. We ate dinner at Tuacahn before the play. Then on Saturday we went shopping at the factory stores, then we all went to the Olive Garden for dinner. We left Sunday morning to Vegas, then I hopped in my car and drove back to Cali. The top picture is of Auntie LaVada, Jamie, Auntie Norma Jean, Launie, LaRae, Misty, Me, Jodi and Kristy. The middle one is of Ashli Johnson, Baby Wyatt Johnson, Baby Wyatt Taylor and Becky Taylor. The bottom one is my cousin Jamie, Me, and my sister Jodi. I love my fam and am so glad that we can get together like this every year and have so much fun!
