Easter!

We started celebrating Easter with an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning. We went to Woods Cross Elementary with Cory, July and kids. Jackson wasn't too sure about the Easter Bunny, he didn't really like him. When it was time for the hunt or gathering I should say, we went outside. It was so nice because they did three different age groups. Jackson and Cooper were in the 1-4 year old group. They let the kids go out and first pick up only three eggs so at least everyone got three. Then they let them go out again and get as many as they could. Jackson thought it was great fun to pick up the eggs and he enjoyed it even more once he learned that there was candy in them.

Jackson had so much fun and really enjoyed his candy. He absolutely loves Cooper so anything we do with Cooper is great. The kids played at the park for a little bit before we headed home. I am glad that we went and now Jackson thinks that all eggs have candy in them. It is a good thing these only come out once a year!

CJ and I had placed eggs around the house for Jackson to find Easter morning. I was trying to take pictures and record at the same time, but as soon as I started recording Jackson got all ornery and wouldn't smile or look for the eggs. It took a little coaxing by Dad, but he finally started picking them up on his own and putting them in his basket.

We barely got a smile out of him for a picture, but he did enjoy his eggs and treats. He really liked his basket. He got a matching game, flap book, coloring book and a Noah's Ark magnet toy for church. He likes his new bucket and asked to go to the sand park. He didn't used to like the sand park, he doesn't really enjoy getting dirty. The last time we were there our friends had a shovel that Jackson played with and he quickly grew to love shoveling.

We went to Connie's for dinner and she always has a hunt for the kids. This is year she put some of the treats hanging from her trees and put pictures of each child on their gifts so they would know which toys to grab. Jackson thought it was great to get more candy and more toys.

The kids loved playing in the bounce house. They got to the point that they didn't want to even finish picking up their toys, they just wanted to jump.
Jackson loved riding in the swing and when he would get in Cooper would always say to me, "No, me push!" Cooper thought it was so fun to push Jackson and Jackson thought it was great! These two are so funny when they get together. They love to do everything together and will follow each other all over. It is the sweetest thing to watch.

Jackson actually has a pretty good arm when it comes to throwing a ball. He thought it was really fun when CJ would throw the ball and it would get stuck on the mitt that he was holding.
Jackson even got an Easter present from Cory and July. He has a very nice Aunt and Uncle!

Grandma and Grandpa Vincent came to dinner and I am so glad that they did. We have been trying to be better about seeing them every week and we missed last week. Grandpa's health isn't doing that great right now and who knows how many more memories we will be able to share with these two very special people. They have been great examples in CJ's life since he was young and when I joined the family, I felt like I had been a granddaughter all my life. They have been very special to me because all of my grandparents have passed away when I was younger and I didn't get to know them very well. I am so blessed for the time I have been able to spend with Grandma and Grandpa Vincent. Grandpa has shown great concern for me and my family since my Dad's passing and I am grateful to have him near so we can visit him often. Grandpa will give me hugs and say they are from my Dad. They make me feel so special and I love them very much.

It was an absolute beautiful day spent with the ones that we love most. Easter is a very special day and I am so grateful for the sacrifice that Christ made for us so that we can be resurrected and live once again with him and our families. He made that choice to do this for us, he was not forced into it. He chose it and how grateful I am that he had the courage to see it through. I cannot imagine the pain and hurt he suffered for me. I love him and will strive my hardest to be worthy of such a selfless act.
