I can't believe that my Jackson is two. The time has gone by so fast and I am amazed at how much he changes everyday. Jackson has changed so much this last year. He learned to walk and talk. He says quite a few words and a few sentences. Sometimes I still don't know what he is saying, but he is doing so well. He runs constantly. Sometimes I think that he forgets that he can walk around. He loves other kids and often asks for the neighbor kids and his buddy Cooper.
We started celebrating Jackson's birthday last night. We had bought him the book Where the Wild Things Are and CJ read it to him before bed. We read it twice and Jackson wanted more, but we made him go to bed.
Jackson was excited to see the decorations up and loved the table centerpiece. We went with Cars for the theme since he absolutely loves the movie Cars and playing with any car. He plays with his Cars cars every day and always has to sleep with them and take them with him everywhere.
When Jackson saw the presents on the table, he immediately grabbed one and started opening it. I had to hurry and stop him and tell him to wait for Daddy. CJ was getting ready for work so I told him to hurry so Jackson could open his gifts. I left them on the table because I didn't think he would really pay attention to them. I think he learned what a present was at Christmas so now he wants to open them. He got the Zoo Talkers toy and a few animals to go with it.
He was really excited to hear the animals name and the sound it makes. He loves putting them down the slide and moving them all over. He even had to nap with his new animals.
We had hootenanny pancakes for breakfast and Jackson had to bring his new animals to eat at the table with us.
We had breakfast for dinner since that is Jackson's favorite thing. He loves almost all breakfast foods. We invited my Mom, Dad, and sister Kelly for dinner and Jackson was very excited. We had sausage souffle and waffles.
We have been trying to teach Jackson to say he is two and to put up two fingers. This is him trying to do it. He says two great, but he puts up his whole hand and says it. It is so cute. At least he is trying!
Jackson was having so much fun with the balloons. He was so busy playing with them and laughing so hard that he couldn't even show Grandma and Papa his new toy!
Grandma Connie, Cory, July, Cayman, Cooper, Candice, Cohen and Kenzley came over for cake and ice cream. He got great gifts and was very excited to open even more presents. He loves having his cousins come and play so when they showed up, it made his night!
Jackson did great blowing out his candles. He did it all by himself. After he blew them out he said, "More!" So CJ lit them one more time for him to blow out. He had been asking me all day for cake. "Please Mama, cake!" I felt bad, but I couldn't give it to him! He was very excited to finally get a piece. His cake wasn't fancy this year. We discovered that food coloring makes him throw up so he just got a chocolate cake with white frosting, but he did like it!
All the cute cousins on the Cottrell side.
It was a great day and I think Jackson had a lot of fun. He loved getting new toys and having his cousins come and play. We are so blessed to have so much family close by to celebrate with us. A big thanks to everyone who made his day special. I don't think he knows exactly what a birthday is, but he sure loved having a party!
