San Fran Trip

These pictures are in no particular order. Here is a few of our seats at the Giants-Mets game. It was so beautiful. It was a great view of the Bay, Oakland, the Bay Bridge etc.....
Here is a picture of the lone Kayaker. He ended up catching a home run ball that was hit by the Mets. The guy behind us got really mad that he didn't throw the ball back on the field and he went down there and yelled at the guy, and got the ball from him. When he got back to his seats, he threw the ball back on the field. Needless to say the guy behind us got thrown out.
Here is the view a little less zoomed.
So the line to get in the stadium was almost a mile long. It was Tim Lincecum Bobblehead night and people got there 5 hours early to wait in line to get one. We went in the entrance that did not have bobbleheads, and then lucky me, the people next to us didn't want two bobbleheads and gave me theirs.
Us outside waiting for the stadium to open to the public.
Earlier in the day Jackie and I drove around Pleasanton where I lived from ages 5-8. So here is where I went to Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I was surprised I remembered street names and how to get around.
We met up with Brian across from the Winchester Mystery House at a huge outdoor mall. We had a nice lunch.
Here is Jackie at the game drinking hot chocolate. It was somewhat cold being on the bay.

Boating at Utah Lake

Last week Candice and Dallas were nice enough to invite us to come boating with them. I hadn't been in years. Dallas backed the boat into the water and while he was parking the truck and trailer I was in charge of driving the boat. Well I've never driven one before and it didn't go so well. Somewhat close to hitting another boat and the dock and while trying to stop the boat from hitting the dock hurt my foot pretty bad. So lesson here, I guess I shouldn't drive the boat.
Here is me wake boarding.
Cohen the official flag person.
Here is Dallas surfing behind the boat. This was pretty cool, I had never seen this before. Candice is waiting for him to throw her the rope.
Showing us how it is done.
And the finish.
Cohen got the munchies and ate Cheetos and Fruit by the Foot.
Here is me doing the surfing. I got up on my first try and it was a lot of fun. I was never brave enough to let go of the rope though. It is pretty similar to wake boarding. Maybe next time when I feel more comfortable. All my practice surfing in California must have really helped me here. It sure is easier to get up when you have a boat pull you up rather than trying to paddle to catch a wave.
Here is Candice surfing.
Here is Jackie chilling on the boat. Thanks Dallas and Candice, we had a great time.

July 4th Weekend

This weekend we headed up to Star Valley Wyoming for the Annual Johnson Family Reunion. We started the activities off with an airplane flying over and dropping off candy for all the kids.

Here is everyone under shelter so they don't get hit by the candy.

There is the plane flying away. Jackie was surprised by how low the plane was when it dropped off the candy.

Here is Jackie trying to do double dutch jump roping with her cousins. As you can see it didn't work out so well.

Next it was off to the Afton Parade. It wasn't very long and they didn't really have floats. Tractors, boats, and trailers.

My brother-in-law Matt and I went golfing during the afternoon. It was great weather and the golf course was not crowded at all. I probably played the best round I've ever played if it wasn't for the hole below. One of the toughest holes I've ever played. Just fairway and tall trees.
It was a five par as well. It was tough.
Later on we played Minute it to Win It games. Here is Jackie playing the M&M elevator game.

She took second place.
Here is Tim and I playing the Oreo game where you start with the oreo on your forehead and you have to get the oreo down into your mouth without using your hands.
Tricia and Tim playing.
I ended up taking third in this one. These games are actually pretty hard to do.
We got back Sunday afternoon and went over to Cory's for fireworks. Got to love Cayman with the perfect product placement cheesy smile. Little Cooper playing.

Beautiful Flower Gardens

This is what we did this week. We planted some flowers and bushes, and brought in some dirt/mulch to make the garden look better. A couple weeks ago we had the curbing done. It's amazing how there always seems to be something you can do to improve the house or yard. It's a never ending project. Enjoy the pictures.

Star Valley Blue Grass Band

My cousin Tara had mentioned that she was going to be singing at the Bountiful Park at a free concert last Monday. We thought that it would be something fun to do so we headed over to the park. When we got there, there was two guys on guitar singing. After them was the infamous Star Valley Blue Grass Band. We were excited to watch them play. They were awesome! Tara helps with the vocals in the group. After they played, the show ended with Tara singing with Mike Murphy who recorded a cd with Tara and they performed some songs from the cd. They did a great job and Tara is an awesome singer.

Real Salt Lake

Last night I went to my first Real Salt Lake game. I had been putting off going. I am just not a big soccer fan. I think it's boring and my true sports love is baseball. Yes I know you will say, well baseball is boring, and I will say, that you just don't understand it. I guess I am the same way with soccer. Jackie's two brothers have season tickets and finally talked me into going. We picked a great game to go to. Real handed LA Galaxy their first loss of the season. Here is the gang arriving to the game. Tim, Wyatt, Ashli, and Beckett. Scott, Kyle, and Colby sat a little ways away from us.

Little Wyatt just had so much fun, not sure why Tim looks so serious.......

Oh and here below is the cute couple.
To make the game a little more interesting, David Cook from American Idol fame sang the National Anthem and then put on a little mini concert after the game. We were able to go down on the field, and that is always fun. The concert was alright, it's kind of hard when you don't recognize any of his songs but one.
We had some lightning storms and that delayed the game for almost a hour. Luckily it only rained a tiny bit. Here are just some shots of the game.

Here is the after concert.
Wyatt loved being on the field and running around, and loved David Cook. All in all it was a fun time. Not sure if I became a soccer fan, but we enjoyed the game.
