Happy Halloween!

We went to our neighbor Natalie's house for dinner to start the night off. She has dinner every Halloween with yummy soups, dips and desserts. Most of the people on our street went and it was fun hanging out with everyone. I made these "used" band-aid treats and eyeball cookies for the dinner.

Jackson didn't want to put on his costume, but once he saw the kids at dinner then he wanted too. He would only put his shirt on though. He didn't want the pants or hat on. After dinner we started trick or treating. We went down our street and then met up with Cory and July so the kids could go together. After a couple houses we headed home.  He didn't like to hold his bucket so CJ held it. We would go up to someone and Jackson would just sit there. We told him to grab a candy and he wasn't so sure about it. After a couple houses he got better about picking a treat and putting it in his bucket. He really just wanted to eat it all as soon as he got it. So we gave him a sucker so that it would keep him preoccupied for a while.

Jackson loves Cooper. He was very excited to see him and follow him to a couple houses. Cooper loves to sit in Jackson's stroller as long as Jackson is in it too.

It was a fun night and Jackson had way too much candy. He was so hyper when we got home. He was running back and forth between the kitchen and family room. He finally went to bed at nine. I sure hope he sleeps all night long!

Gardner Village and fun with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson

Jackson and I went to Gardner Village to see it all decorated and see what fun things they have there for Halloween. It was decorated so cute. There were pumpkins, hay bales and witches all over. It was fun to see everything that they put out for the month. I tried to get some good pictures of Jackson, but he was so squirmy and excited to see everything. We watched the ducks for probably forty-five minutes. He loved watching them swim in the water and walk on the ground. It was nice to just be able to let Jackson do whatever he wanted, we were in no hurry and were able to enjoy our time there. It definitely was perfect weather to be outside.

I love this pouty look. He was not happy that I took him away from the ducks to take a picture.

There were three black crows that were hanging above the sunflowers and they made Jackson very nervous. He kept looking up at them and wouldn't smile.

Jackson loved running free on this little stage with other kids.

Afterwards, we went to Grandma Johnson's house. They had put the trampoline by the deck so Jackson can walk on and off the tramp. He thought it was the greatest thing. He loved it even more when my Mom and Dad got on the tramp. He would follow my Mom around the tramp and if she stopped he would get mad and grab her finger and pull her until she started going again.

While we were there, a bird flew into the house, right into the bathroom and smacked the mirror. It must have hit pretty hard because it laid on the counter for a few seconds dazed. My Dad picked it up and showed it to Jackson. Jackson thought it was pretty fun to see a bird so closely. My Dad took it out on the tramp and put it down so Jackson could see and it flew away.

Trunk or Treat

This past weekend we were able to watch Cayman and Cooper while Cory and July were out of town. The kids had so much fun and Jackson loved having his cousins over all weekend. They played hard and wore themselves out. Cooper and Jackson were so funny together. They loved being together and I  loved hearing them laugh.

Our ward Trunk or Treat was on Friday so we got the kids dressed up so we could go. Every time we had tried to put Jackson's costume before to see how it looks, he would throw a fit. He would get so upset and we were very tempted to take it back since he wouldn't wear it. When he saw Cooper getting his costume on then he was more then willing to put his on. He still refused to wear the hat, but at least we got him to wear the outfit. He looked so cute!

CJ had an ape costume that he put on. He didn't wear the mask because he was afraid it would scare Jackson. Jackson didn't really know what was going on, but he did think it was great that he got to eat candy! Every time he got one, he wanted to eat it right away.

It was really cold out so we didn't stay long after we were done going to all the cars. The kids grabbed some doughnuts and we headed out. It was a fun night though and I am glad we were able to go with Cayman and Cooper.  We are very blessed to live so close to family so that Jackson can see his cousins all the time. He loves them!
