One Last Adventure in California

Before we left California, there were a few things we wanted to do.  We've visited a lot of places and done a lot of things, but we hadn't been to the San Diego Zoo or a San Diego Padres Baseball game.  Here is the recap of our trip.

Friday we left for Aunt Renee's house to spend the night.  We had a fun evening of talking and we were even able to meet Brian (Jackie's cousin) who lives in Texas and works for the same company as us.  I had heard a lot about him from family and work and it was fun to talk to him.  We even saw Emily's new baby girl which was fun.  So we saw most of the Hulse family.  Thanks to Aunt Nay for letting us spend the night.

Saturday we went straight to the Zoo.  It was a blast.  I thought I would get bored after a little bit, but did not get bored at all.  I was glad we made the trip.  While we were at the Zoo, one of my really good friends from High School is living in San Diego while her husband goes to Law School and they were able to stop by the Zoo for a little bit and say hi.  It was really fun to see Emmy and meet her husband and little boy.  Fun to catch up on some of the old friends.  We saw lots of animals and Jackie's favorite were the Panda's.  We saw lots of fun monkeys, bears, and some really cool flowers and trees.

After the Zoo we checked into our hotel, swam and then rested.  That night we went to a Padres game.  It is the only stadium on the west coast that I hadn't been to, and it did not disappoint.  It was an amazing stadium and I sure do enjoy baseball.  Even though the game had no affect on the play-offs and both teams were in last place, it was still a lot of fun to watch and relax.  After the game they had fireworks which were a lot of fun.

On Sunday we went to Balboa Park which is full of museums and gardens.  We just walked around and enjoyed the scenery.  We did stop in on the of the museums which was a railroad museum.  It was huge and had tons of trains.  Jackie's brother Scott will be jealous we were able to go there and he wasn't able to come with us.  After that we headed home and to make Jackie's mom jealous we stopped at Las Golondrinas and had some amazing Mexican food.

It was fun to get in one last adventure.  We sure will miss California.

More Fun Pics from My Girls Weekend

Some of us girls being goofy! Can you guess which pair is mine?
My Mommy, Aunt LaVada, Kelly, Aunt Norma Jean, me, Misty and LaRae pl aying in a little stream at a park.
You can't really see this picture, but my Auntie Norma Jean and I are running throught the shooting water like what they have at Gateway. It was quite fun!
Cousin Lizzy, Becky and me.
The next two pictures are of all of us playing catch phrase. It was a very intense game!

Kelly, me, Jamie, Marius, Tara and Tricia. The guy who played Marius did a great job in the play and we all thought he was Dreamy with those sparkling white teeth.
Kelly, Tara, Javert, Jean Val Jean, Tricia, Liz, me, and Becky. Javert and Val Jean did amazing jobs in the play. Everybody loved the play and because we are all Johnson's we all cried through most of it.
Me, Jamie and Mr. Ensemble. During the play when Jamie's eyes met Mr. Ensemble's her heart skipped a beat. She just had to get a picture with him! Jamie was too nervous to ask for a picture so our wonderful brave cousin Tara grabbed Mr. Ensemble so we could take just a quick pic. Aren't they a cute couple?

Lonely Weekend

This past weekend, Jackie went to an all girl weekend with her Cousins, Aunts, Sisters, and Mom in St George. They go see a play in Tuachan every year together. Jackie left Thursday night and drove with our friend Nellie and baby Logan. She dropped them off at Nellie's Sister's place. It was really nice to have someone drive with Jackie so she wasn't alone. Jackie spent the night with Jodi and family. Kelly had flown in from Arkansas to Vegas for the weekend and I know Jackie had a great time with Kelly.
Jackie made it to Cafe Rio, Outlet Shopping, Crackel Barrel, Pasta Factory and to the play Les Miserables. She said it was a great play.

My weekend was spent working and playing the Nitendo Wii. Since Spenny's wife was out of town as well, we watched plenty of football. We tried to make a guy's weekend out of it and went to Six Flags for part of Saturday and then made it back to watch the Ute Football game. Go Utes!!! I sure was anxious on Sunday to have Jackie come home. It seemed like the day took forever. She finally got home that night and it was nice to have my wife and best friend home, even though it had only been 3 and half days.

I stole these pictures from Becky's blog, so thanks Becky for taking pictures as Jackie took our camera and didn't leave it for me, and then she didn't even take pictures. Thus no one gets to see pictures from our guy's weekend, I know you are all disappointed.

On a side note, for those that don't know, Jackie and I are moving back to Utah. We will be moving the second week of October. Just in time for the snow. I sure will miss the ocean, beaches, and this amazing weather, but we are excited to be back close to family and friends. I am staying with the same company, just transferring to a new facility, and hopefully Jackie will be doing the same. We love our jobs and look forward to being able to work closer to home. It is going to be hard to leave our close friends here though.

Disneyland Again

Here is day 2 of our 3 day pass to Disneyland. We will go again in October. We were up bright and early on Saturday (6 am) and were to Disneyland by 8:30 am. It took us just over a hour to get there. I was surprised and we didn't have to wait very long in any line. Usually ten minutes. The only exception was the new Toy Story Ride which was a forty minute wait. It was my favorite ride of the day. It is a lot of fun and way creative.
The next few pictures are of me posing on the rides. This is my favorite thing at Disneyland and what keeps me entertained. It's funny when you get off the ride and people are pointing at your picture and laughing at what I am doing. Then they look at me and say hey is that you, and I say proudly, sure is, and they just laugh. Jackie thinks I am a big dork, oh well I think it is funny. Let me know if you do too.
Jackie is trying to pretend she is asleep in the above picture, not sure why her hand looks like that. I am way better at posing. The above picture is Space Mountain.
California Screaming, Jackie's best pose of the day.
This is on Tower of Terror, you can sure tell how "Terrorized" I am.

Splash Mountain, this was my deep in thought pose. Needless to say I got soaked. See the pictures below. We did this ride just as the sun was going down, so I was wet the rest of the day, not enjoyable.

Picture Below is from Buzz Lightyear. Jackie kicks my butt every time. I am so terrible at this shooting game. It is embarrassing. I did beat Jackie by a 1,000 points on the new Toy Story ride. It is also a shooting game but in 3 D. It is awesome.
Jackie getting ready for the firework show. It was amazing. I can't believe how much Disney puts into the firework show every weekend. It was worth the hour and half wait that we sat on the street staking out at place to sit.
We had a great time, and yes I enjoyed myself. It was a lot of fun spending the day with my wife at her favorite place in the whole world.

Bon Fire for FHE

Our new ward in Ventura has an unofficial FHE every month at the beach with a Bon Fire. I had always wanted to have a bon fire on the beach and was excited to finally have one. We ate some sandwiches and then made some smores. I can not even remember the last time I had a smore. They were great!!! Jackie is an expert smore maker.
Jackie with the Morris Family
Oh what a cute couple.
Jackie roasting some marshmellows.
It was a lot of fun being on the beach around the fire. Even some of the kids got in the ocean. I think they are crazy because it has to be cold, but they enjoyed it. Once again, anyone in the area, we will be at Disneyland in two days. Feel free to come!!!!! Well I guess it's not free because you have to pay for your Disneyland tickets, but you know what I mean :)

No fun not having the Internet

We moved into our new place a few weeks back and decided not to keep the internet. I'm thinking we should have re-thought that. For one thing it makes it hard to post on the blog and two since we do not have cable or satellite dish we would watch TV shows online. It's nice to be able to watch stuff when you want and have limited commercials. Anyway, it's made for a lot more Nitendo Wii. Jackie sure doesn't like NCAA Football 09. I sure do. So far in four seasons I have two national titles and had the top recruiting class this last season. I think it's fun, you are able to manage a NCAA football team for 10 seasons with the ultimate goal of starting the season Number One and finishing that way. I'm almost there. Down below are some pictures of the new place.
Everyone's front doors face this courtyard. It is well kept but sure makes it louder and lot easier to smell the neighbors smoke. Other than that, the change has been no big deal, plus we live a few doors down from Spenny and Nellie, so we have friends to hang out with every night.
This is the only room you get see. We have not unloaded boxes yet.
We bought three day passes for the price of one at Disneyland. Jackie's dream come true. On the 29th we went for the evening. Jackie's face sure does light up when we get there, like a kid in a candy store. On the way out we remembered we had not taken any pictures, so we stopped inside the big Disney store and tried on hats. We are going again this Saturday the 13th if anyone in the area wants to meet us there. We would love company.
No idea what I am doing, but I sure do look goofy.
GO UTES!!!!
